Definition of Application Letter
A cover letter or job application letter is a document sent to a company leader or recruiter to apply for a job. This letter contains specific interests, qualifications, and experiences deemed relevant to fill the available vacancies.
This job application letter should control your and your ability to attract the attention of recruiters or HRD.
Structure of Job Application Letter (Cover Letter)
1. Use the Official Format
Job application letters must be written professionally and in formal language. The document format must include single spacing, one inch margins and left alignment. We recommend using the Times New Roman font in a size from 10 to 12 points.
2. Create Headings
Don't forget to use formal headings for your job application letter. This title should include your name and contact information, the date and the name and address of the company.
3. Address the Letter to the Hiring Manager or HRD
Before writing a job application letter, you should find the name of the party who will review the application letter. Address your job application letter to this person with a formal greeting, 'Dear Mr/Ms', and their name.

Linguistic rules refer to common language features found in a text. The language rule contained in the cover letter text is passive voice.

- Sentence Structure. Accurate grammar is the main point in writing a job application letter.
- Language style. The language used can be personal. For example, using first and second person pronouns.
- It is allowed to use contractions, such as hes's, she's, haven't, and they're.
- Even if you use informal language style, never use offensive sentences or language, and keep using sentences with proper grammar.
