definition

---> Song is a composition of tone or voice in sequence, combination and temporal relation to produse a musical compositian that has unity and continuity.

goal

---> Songs are used to express feeling and idea in an entertaining world. Songs can be used to deliver social criticism. The moral values are hidden in the lyrics. 

Song structur

 Songs have some structure that is:

• Intro

---> is the beginning of the song, usually only the instrument

• verse

---> commonly called stanza is the introductory part to the chorus

• Chorus

---> is the main part of the song and is usually the easiest to remember

• Refrain

---> is a transition from verse to chorus

• Bridge

---> is the link between the chorus to the next chorus

• Coda

---> is the closing song

Song social function

 Songs have some social function that is:

• to express feeling and idea

• to criticise the social

• to teach moral value through the lyrics of the song

• to express personal feeling and culture values

• to entertain or amuse the listeners

Language Features

---> songs also have linguistic characteristics, namely

a. imagery.

---> Imagery describes about feelings and emotions. A song usually tries to describe how the writer feels.

b. Rhythm.

--->Rhythm here is used to create the mood. For example, if we are sad and listen to a song with a slow rhythm, we will get carried away with the song. So, rhythm creates mood!

---> comparing two things that are not alike to suggest that they actually have something in common.

2. Simile

---> compares two things using "like" or "as".

3. Hyperbole

---> a dramatic language. Big exaggeration, usually with humor.
